Hold up, what’s Rent then Buy?

In short, it’s an affordable payment plan. We’ve made it simple. You pay a weekly rate over a 24 month rental period and then after that period is completed, you can offer to buy the system for as little as $120 usually! We cover the full parts and labour warranty in house in our Applecross shop during the Rental Period (yep, 24 months of it!) and we also provide tech support from our 5 full time technicians should you have any issues. We have VIP warranty repair service, and we stake our reputation on giving the absolute best customer service and after sale service as possible. This means we are fully committed to looking after you, and your PC for the whole Rent then Buy Plan. We won’t leave you high and dry – we’re a local Perth Company just up the road from Canning Bridge – so you know you always have a physical shop to pop into and deal with. We’ve been in the same spot for 25+ years, and we’ve got staff that have been around that long too! I could be considered a Junior staff member, having only worked here since 2012!

Here’s the Key Benefits of Our Rent then Buy on Gaming PCs:

Let’s Talk Ultimate Gaming PC Packages – Rent then Buy

Our Ultimate Gaming PC Package is the one that over 90% of our customers will end up getting. Why is that? It’s because the Team of experts at Delta have made it the best bang for buck system that will do pretty much everything as well as you expect. I’m talking playing the latest AAA games from Steam etc. etc. on Max Settings, 1080p Full HD Res and getting 60+ FPS. That is basically the minimum acceptable level we will provide because we want to make sure that you don’t just get a Gaming PC – you get a Gaming PC you love using daily! Obviously some games are going to be getting more FPS for example Fortnite, League of Legends, DOTA 2, WoW, CS. And counter to that – you may have to turn the setting down to High to achieve 60+ FPS on certain games.

Here’s an up to date specs list of what components actually go into building these systems as of today (15/09/20) and subject to change as per availability / cost.

Cooler Master Devastator 3 RGB Gaming Keyboard and Mouse

This is $39.20 per week over 24 months with a $120 offer to buy after the end.
The PC comes fully set up, stress tested and with some basic program essentials already installed for your convenience.
It’s that simple, all you have to do is take it home and plug it in and download your Game Libraries! Then you’re good to go!

Now whilst this package suits most of our Gamers, we get the occasional request for something a little different. The main component you would need to upgrade (maybe the only component) in this system to get better gaming performance is the Graphics Card. This is something we can easily do in house here and takes very little time. We also make sure to upgrade your power supply to cater for the beefier graphics card too.

Normally the next steps in the range are the GTX 1660 Super 6GB (+$2 per week), RTX 2060 6GB (+$6 per week), RTX 2070 8GB (+$10 per week) or RTX 2080 8GB (+$16 per week). Now you might know which one of these models is going to suit you best, but if you don’t you can simply let one of our expert staff what games you’d like to play, what setting or FPS you’d like and what monitor you intend to use and we can make sure you get the right model that will do the job.

So as you can see with our Gaming systems the GTX 1660 6GB Graphics card which is offered as standard will be more than capable of running nearly every game extremely well! That’s not to say you always have to be gaming at Max Settings too – if you turn those down a little, your FPS will take a noticeable step upwards. We find that unless you have a specific goal you’re looking to achieve the GTX 1660 6GB Graphics card is perfect and won’t let you down.

That being said – if you want to launch your FPS towards the 100 mark on most games you’ll need to be looking at the RTX 2060 6GB Graphics Card which is probably our most popular upgrade right at this moment. These are extremely good value for money. This card is also good if you are looking to play easier to run games at 144 FPS to match up with a 144Hz Monitor with G-Sync / Freesync. If you’re looking to play at 1440p then we would recommend the RTX 2070 8GB at minimum, otherwise the RTX 2080 8GB is an awesome option. To be perfectly honest, if you’re looking to play in 4K – we’d suggest you reconsider unless you have an unlimited budget! We’ll need to special order something for you.

Why not upgrade my CPU? Doesn’t it make a difference?

i7 10th Gen CPU

Upgrading from an i7 CPU (for gaming) is a waste of money. Given that our standard systems come with an Intel 10th Gen i7 CPU there is absolutely no reason to upgrade to a higher model. You will not actually see any benefits for gaming and you’re going to cost yourself a lot of money. The Unlocked i7 CPU / i9 CPU are much more targeted towards High End Desktop Workstation applications like 3D Modelling / Deisgn with CAD and Solidworks or Video Editing / Rendering. Some specific software is CPU bound though and it will make a difference to have more Cores / Threads – this is true. But Gaming does not utilize the extra cores. The Single Core Clockspeed is just about the most important metric and the i7-10700F CPU maxes out at 4.8GHz which is incredibly high.

What about if I get more RAM installed?

Pile of RAM

This is also largely a waste of money. There are presently no games that use the full amount of 16GB that comes standard in our Ultimate Gaming PC Packages on Rent then Buy. If you care to check, just see next time you’re gaming how much RAM is actually being used (or check out some youtube vids). You’ll find that 8GB is too little, 16GB is perfect and 32GB is overkill. Once again, the large amounts of RAM are much more suited to High End Desktop Workstation applications. You won’t actually notice a difference for gaming.

Why are we telling you this?

At Delta we’re 100% honest about the specs you get in your system and don’t want to oversell or undersell you. We want to make sure that you get a system that is going to perfectly suit your needs. We aren’t interested in making you pay for stuff you don’t need – in fact we’ll always let you know if there’s a cheaper alternative for your requirements. At Delta we pride ourselves on honest, open and friendly advice. We were all new to PC building once, so we want to make sure you have someone to trust who genuinely wants to help. We’ll guide you through the whole process from A-Z each step of the way. Or if you know what you’re doing, we’re happy to sit back and co-pilot while you lead the design!

So Can I Just Custom Build the Whole PC from Scratch with you guys?

Well yes and no. We have formed key industry and supplier partnerships over the last 25 years and buy in bulk from them when we order parts. This ensures that we get the best possible prices so that we can pass those savings onto you. Sure we have a lot of options in stock – but if you want something special ordered that’s no problem – however it will likely cost a lot more than the thing we’ve already got. A really common example of this is different brand of Graphics Cards / RAM / SSDs. We always do extensive research and have to support our Systems for 24 months – so it’s in our best interests to make it top quality – otherwise we’d be overrun with support calls and warranty issues! So you can always trust what we’ve picked out and most of the time, there’s hardly anything in the different brands in terms of performance.
